Ten wicked games children must avoid!
Normally these top ten lists are drawn up by games sites for a few chuckles mixed with a healthy bout of nostalgia. Not this time – this one is actually serious. It has been drawn up by a US group called the National Institute on Media and Family; it’s designed to help parents work out which games they absolutely must not let into the hands of children lest they start turning into demonic little bastards.
In fairness to all the IDIOT parents out there who blissfully ignore all manner of clearly labelled age-ratings at lil’ Jimmy’s request, it must be tough for non-gamers to pick the right game to both appease their kid’s constant braying and not have them then look at you like you’re some mummified creature from a previous millennia. Well, at least you can now narrow it down some. Definitely don’t buy them these games:
Assassin's Creed
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Conan
The Darkness
Clive Barker's Jericho
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Manhunt 2
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
John Woo Presents Stranglehold
Timeshift
Hmm, I think maybe Manhunt 2 would have done better further up that list, what with it being so unspeakably evil that it got itself banned in other countries. But look kids: seems that GTA: San Andreas is fair game once more. And you know that there is no f*cking way you’re getting a shot at GTA IV when that comes out. Better get your fix in now.
