Kojima says Metal Gear Solid 4 demo could run on Xbox 360
When the trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 was launched at Tokyo Games Show, it was accompanied by much PS3 branding. But in a sign that creator Hideo Kojima, and Konami, may be hedging away from exclusively backing Sony, and that the Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware are, as is widely believed, fairly similar, Kojima has now stated that the demo could have been done on a Xbox 360 instead.

people r begging for it to b on xbox360 and ive seen other discussions where people want an xbox 360 unreleased game on the ps3 and they laugh at those who have ps3. it doesnt seem fair. Also, ide love to see what MGS4 is like, a demo would be cool, and im hoping Raiden will be playable, i loved playing as him in MGS2

MGS does not belong to Sony but Konami. Konami can publish it on any console they want without Sony's permision. Have you seen Snake in Smash Bros Brawl?

to the people saying that sony should bring metal gear to the xbox systems:
its not sony's decision at all it's hideo kojima's(the creator of the series)/konami's
decision
plus the full game of mgs4 could not run on the xbox 360 just the demo could you people need to learn to get your facts strait

Josh, give me the links where Kojima has stated that ONLY the demo and not the full game would be able to run on 360. Without links and quotes, there is no proof to back up your comments. I have never read anything about what your saying to this day. If you can't back up your comments with facts, keep your assumptions to yourself.
As to the people complaining about defective 360... get over it. Boo hoo. Its new technology, NOBODY gets it right. Tvs, cars, gamesystems, dvd players, etc. have all faced defects their first time released. I had to exchange my psp 6 times man. I have receipts to back up my claims. My 360 is having some problems, am I gonna cry about it? NO. Im calling MS to take care of the product. They have been more supportive then Sony and their PSP situation. MS is taking care of all the costs. Unlike Sony, they wanted me to pay for the shipping of the PSP.

This article isn't full right. Hideo said the demo ONLY could run on the 360 but only becuase the demo was running on a system only 2/3 the power of the final PS3 plus the demo was using old MGS 3 textures and the final game will have better textures and better graphics so no the final game wont be able to play on the 360.
Also Hideo has never once said he exclusivly is backing the PS3 with all his games, he only says he Perfers the MGS series on the playstation seeing how they are a perfect match and was dissappointed with the MGS 2 port to x-box. He has a whole differnt game idea set for the 360.

Sorry but Steve above really doesn't understand the "point of business" as he puts it. It has been said that Microsoft are selling the 360 at a large loss in order to get the price down, I wonder if Sony will have to do the same? MS also says the price of the 360 will drop when the PS3 comes out.
The point to all this is that if they both sell at a loss they have to make money back up on the games, Sega found this out the hard way and gave up after their last console.
So while we probably won't see MGS4 on the 360 in the short term it makes no sense not to.
I guess the only people to suffer from this are the people who can't afford both but then it would be much worse with only one of them selling consoles as the prices would be sky high, but I get the feeling that the 360 and the PS3 could make or kill the games departments of MS and Sony.

I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT MGS4 SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY ON BOTH PS2 AND PS3. THANK YOU

I strongly believe it would be a lot better if Metal Gear Solid 4 could be played on both the PS2 and PS3.Please I really want to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and the only way I can play is if you(Hideo Kojima)let it be able to play on the PS2.I can only play it on the PS2 because I here that the PS3 is really expensive.

Just because the Xbox was more powerful than the PS2 doesn't mean it will be the same next gen. And you clearly don't understand the point of business. If Xbox'rs like MGS, Sony aren't exactly going to give it away to them huh? They want to sell more PS3's.

dont be too jealous of us 360 owners. mine is definately defective. it freezes up every few minutes of play. and its not limited to one game; it freezes for perfect dark, need for speed most wanted, and project gotham. F this man, ive spent a lot of money for what?

Wat I fink is, Xbox fwee 60 is somefing of a dream muscle power machine, basically the endorphine powered triconer is enough to blitz the ps3 using its segregated installation vibro clackalistic kent cam. its all about the boost mate, lets go!!!

In agreeing with Mike (above), it would be--in my opinion--better for Sony to at least try to get MGS on the 360, I know I would have been more interested in the MGS franchise if they expanded. I didn't like the load times with the PS2, but I loved the graphics. It would be cost effective, as a lot of x-box'rs are MGS fans.
Heck, even a multi-player aspect could be built in...?
I envy those with a 360... lols...

Metal Gear would fit perfectly with the Xbox 360. The graphics are amazing and the money they could make would be great and it would make more more and more fans satisfied.
